French Open News

It’s the 113th anniversary of the French Open this year which will take place at Roland Garros in Paris from May 24th to June 6th.

Injuries are the name of the game this year, possibly preventing some of the top seeds even being in the contest.

Serena Williams is hoping that her knee holds out after her surgery last year prevented her from playing for 8 months. She made a terrific comeback, however, winning the Nasdaq-100 Open in March. Since then, however, her knee became a problem again forcing her to pull out of the tournament in Charleston , South Carolina last month. Ms Williams is optimistic saying that she has no pain currently and is looking forward to competing both at the French Open and Wimbledon .

Meanwhile, sister Venus who injured her left ankle and had to pull out of the German Open final is hopeful of playing at Roland Garros.
